In June 2016, the Fair Job Hotels association was founded by 15 well-known members from the hotel industry, trade press and other partners. In the meantime, more than 70 hotels and more than ten industry partners have joined the initiative, which sees above all a good working atmosphere characterized by an open, fair and contemporary management style as the basis for the long-term success of a hotel business.

The aim of the association is to set common, binding values and standards for dealings in the working environment.

A partner hotel of the initiative can become one if it supports the “FAIRsprechen” and implements it in its business – in the sense of: “We promote and challenge talent”, and “We offer suitable professional challenges for many life models”.

The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association Deutschland e.V. is the trade association for the hospitality industry and forms a network of over 1600 members as well as a knowledge pool on all relevant specialist areas. The current specialist areas of the HSMA are divided into:

It is the task of HSMA to establish a close contact between the members by exchanging information and experience to maintain and improve the knowledge and skills in their specialist areas and to distribute the knowledge accordingly.

The Swisstainable program is committed to the sustainable orientation of Swiss tourism businesses. Through the three levels (I: committed, II: engaged, III: leading), businesses can position themselves as responsible and contribute to the sustainable development of Swiss tourism. With GreenSign Hotel, Swiss hotels are classified directly at Level III – leading of the program.

The Austrian Hoteliers Association (ÖHV) represents more than 1,600 top hotels in Austria as an independent lobby group. It has been advocating for the Austrian hotel industry for almost 70 years, fighting for its concerns on the front line, paving the way and creating framework conditions in which successful business is possible. In terms of sustainability, GreenSign maintains a regular exchange with the ÖHV.

Online platform for accommodations with electric charging stations

The online platform EmobilHotels, created in spring 2020, presents a large selection of accommodations with charging stations for fully electric and hybrid cars in the Alpine region. Currently, over 3,000 hotels with charging stations, including over 300 Premium Members can be found on the EmobilHotels Google Maps. The map shows the two different ways to be displayed on the platform. While a listing as a gray POI (Point of Interest) only provides information about the location of the hotel and shows that e-charging stations are generally available, a green POI represents a so-called Premium Member Hotel. The Premium Members are presented on the platform with a detailed hotel description, suitable pictures and exact information about the charging infrastructure (number and type of charging stations). The website is available in German, Italian and English.

Hamburg Tourismus GmbH (HHT) is the destination marketing and management organization of the City of Hamburg. As part of the Hamburg Marketing Holding, it sees itself as an initiator, networker and service provider for the interests of hosts, guests and residents of the city. HHT focuses on sustainable tourism growth. Its declared goal is to create a sustainable balance between growth and prosperity on the one hand and ecological compatibility, social responsibility and cultural sensitivity on the other.

Appreciating food, regional-seasonal cuisine, climate protection and social commitment: Greentable brings sustainability to your table. Greentable is the first German non-profit initiative for sustainability in the catering industry. Establishments in the out-of-home market whose principles meet the independently developed criteria of responsible use of resources, regional and seasonal purchasing and social commitment are bundled by Greentable and presented on a common platform. The initiative offers the network of restaurants and cafés, suppliers, producers and consumers a platform for information and exchange on “green enjoyment” and supports its members in the development and external presentation of their sustainable profile.
